On May 15th, 2015, at nineteen years of age, Andrew Lee was diagnosed with stage 4 of a rare kidney cancer called HLRCC that has no cure. When he was diagnosed, he was told he had 6 months to a year to live. Knowing that he was going to die soon, he created a campaign using his Nissan GTR to raise awareness of HLRCC and to raise money for research of the disease. During the four years he had the disease, he would test new methods of treatments to see how it would react with the cancer for research purposes while working on his campaign. Through these treatments, Andrew hoped to save many lives and help inspire those who have the disease. On April 21st, 2019, surrounded by his family and his friends, Andrew passed peacefully. His last wish was to donate his tissue and kidney to the National Institute of Health to further the research of rare kidney cancers like HLRCC.
