This semester we decided to update the playlist with all of our spring staff’s choices. So, we asked all of our staff members once again to select a song that meant a lot to them. Here is the Spring 2019 Journalism staff’s Soundtrack 2 Their Lives:

Sam Liske: Sam’s song is “Touch of Grey” by Grateful Dead because it’s about tenacity. Fair enough!

Christian Rees: Christian said “Red Rabbit” by The Shins because one of lyrics is “it’s never bad to be sad.” Agreed.

Jacob King: Jacob’s song is “Oldie” by Odd Future. He says, “It’s a very chill song that promotes the enjoyment of life.”

Evan McElveen: Evan’s pick was “Disciples” by Tame Impala because the melody give off a happy tone.

Garon Nicholson:  Garon’s song is “Midsummer Madness” by Rich Brian because it’s about making the most of life.

Joe Maw: Joe’s song is “L$D” by A$AP Rocky because it has a good correlation between love and drugs. You do you man.

Allison Doll: Allison’s song is “All On Me” by Devin Dawson because it’s a good song about how people can come to him with problems like her friends do to her.

Bella Gaylor: Bella’s song is classic, “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus. She chose this because “Hannah is a lyrical genius.” We concur.

Taylor Lamance: Taylor’s said “Motorsport” by Migos because he like to race and work with cars.

Riley Wilson: Riley’s song is “When I Get Where I’m Going” by Brad Paisley because she “lives by making the most out of every minute.”

Emma Poindexter: Emma chose “Woman” by Kesha because “Kesha always slays.”

Jessica Matheson: Jessica picked “Island in the Sun” by Weezer because she likes to have fun. Us too, us too.

Amy Cloud: Amy’s song is “Fight Night” by Migos because she “hates everyone.” Okay sis tell us how you really feel.

Ashleigh Nicholson: Ashleigh’s pick is “We are the Champions” by Queen because she loves Queen.

Lillian Nowell: Lillian’s song is “Sucker” by Jonas Brothers because “they’re all taken and we’re all suckers.”

Paige Gleason: Paige’s pick is a classic, “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. She picked it because “happy times are always around the corner, just wait.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

Tejal Thurnauer: Tejal’s song is “Friday I’m In Love” by The Cure because “it’s a really sweet and nostalgic song.”

Loren Gaston: Loren’s song is “Somewhere on a Beach” by Dierks Bentley because “I would rather be on a beach than anywhere else.” Same.

Maggie Atchley: Maggie’s song is an American classic loved by all: “Boomerang” by JoJo Siwa. She chose this song because “Imma bounce back like a boomerang.”

Morgan Carbough: Morgan picked “Knee Deep” by Zac Brown Band because she wants to go to Hawaii.

Myles McFerran: Myles’s song is “As Good As I Once Was” by Toby Keith because “I peaked in middle school.”

Owen Kovacs: Owen’s song is “Without Me” by Eminem because “I’m Slim Shady.”

Mason Schuermann: Mason’s song is “She Got The Best of Me” by Luke Combs because he “got played.” That’s tough.

Andrew Howell: Andrew’s song is “Die a Happy Man” by Thomas Rhett because he wants to die a happy man. Fair enough.

Kyli Tatman: Kyli’s song is “La Vie-En Rose” by Louis Armstrong because “it’s a pretty and happy song.”

Ms. Toth: Ms. Toth’s song is “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana because she really likes this new band! Who is going to tell her she’s about 10 years late to the party?

Ellie Arp: Ellie’s song is “ I Lived” by One Republic because she likes One Republic.

Alyssa Cuevas: Alyssa’s song is “Lonely Weekend” by Kacey Musgraves because like Kacey she has “a million things to do and hasn’t done a single one!” and Kacey Musgraves is a queen.
