When people think of College Basketball, they think of big names like Kentucky, UCLA, North Carolina, and Duke because of their sustained level of excellence on the court. The key to their success is how they manage to lure the best high school players in the nation to play for their school, but as of late, Duke has been dominating the recruiting scene. In 2017, the Blue devils pulled in the #1 overall recruit, Marvin Bagley; the #1 power forward, Wendell Carter Jr; the #1 shooting guard, Gary Trent Jr; the #1 point guard, Trevon Duval; along with other three and four star players. Although this class was impressive, it managed to be out-shined by the this year’s 2018 class. They managed to pull in the #1, 2, 3, and 5 players in the nation, these being RJ Barrett, Zion Williamson, Cam Reddish, and Tre Jones.

With all of these major recruits signing with Duke, they have the highest expectations of any team coming in.Their fan base is disappointed with anything less than a national championship, and rightfully so. With the amount of talent they bring in every year, they should be at least in the final four. So as long as the one and done rule is here, so will the Duke Blue Devils.
