Farragut High School is celebrating Cassie Horwege, who scored within the 99th percentile on her level 3 National German Exam for High School Students. The exam is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG). Over 20,000 students participated in the exam process this year, which includes short answer response questions in German and English and an interview with a committee of high school teachers and college professors in German.

Horwege is among 44 students to receive the reward, which includes a study trip to Germany this summer. She will get to live with a host family, attend school, and visit several historical and cultural attractions around the country. Keith Cothrun, Executive Director of the AATG, said, “This year’s prize winners are some of the finest in the US. The prize is a great reward for excellence in learning German.” Congrats to Cassie Horwege for her show of excellence in the German language!
