Redmond “Red” Gerard seems just like another snowboarder from Colorado, but this kid incredibly talented. He recently won the gold medal for the Snowboard Slopestyle in the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games. Red is loved for his youthful nature and his exciting presence on the slope.

Red Gerard was born June 29, 2000 in Westlake, Ohio. He grew up in in Silverthorne, Colorado, and, for the most part, lived a pretty regular childhood. Gerard discovered his passion for  snowboarding at age 2 and learned his first tricks in his very own backyard.

After joining the Burton Global Team for snowboarding Red made his way to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. He is now the youngest American Snowboarder ever to medal in the slopestyle, even though he was late for the event. Yes, he was late for the event. He told Jimmy Kimmel that he overslept because “Me and my buddy were watching Netflix.” Never grow up, Red.
